Barcelona Transfer News: Marco Verratti Agreement Reported Despite PSG 'Problem'

Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti has reportedly come to an agreement with Barcelona, but his current club has no interest in selling and have prepared a new contract worth €10 million per year.

That's according to Calciomercato's Angelo Taglieri, who reported Lionel Messi has given his blessing to sign the Italy international. Bayern Munich also maintain an interest, while Juventus have been priced out.

Verratti's agent Donato Di Campli has dropped several hints his client wants to leave in the past few weeks.

As reported by Loic Tanzi and Ignasi Oliva of Goal, the midfielder has informed Les Parisiens he's gunning for a summer move, but football journalist David Amoyal said PSG generally don't give into player demands:

According to Taglieri, discussions with Barcelona took place while Verratti was in Ibiza. It's said Carlo Ancelotti tried to convince him to join Bayern, but the former Pescara man refused. With Juventus unable to come up with the finances to complete a deal, Barcelona seems the only option.

The Catalans would love to add the dynamic playmaker, who has tremendous passing range but is also known for his relentlessness on the defensive end. PSG have plenty of talent in midfield, including budding star Lorenzo Callegari, but he lacks the necessary experience to replace a player as pivotal as Verratti
