WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton

WWE CHAMPION JINDER MAHAL  VS RANDY ORTON

And the Singh brothers once again proved to be the deciding factor here. Well, them and the entire first row of legends watching at ringside. As soon as they introduced all of them (hey, it's Baron von Raschke!), and Randy's own iconic father was among them, it was more or less clear that Jinder was retaining. It's the time-honored tradition of "someone's going to mess with the dad and it'll lead to the villain winning." Also, it's Randy's hometown and we know how that usually goes.

Things broke down toward the end of the match when Randy once again targeted the Singhs and tried to murder them on the outside of the ring. This time though, he took a LONG time beating them down. So much time that it was weird that he wasn't counted out. So much time that it was absurd to think that Jinder wouldn't have recovered from an RKO back in the ring. Which he had. Randy rolled back in and took Jinder's finisher and that's all she wrote.

Overall though, this was a much better match than their first PPV encounter. They seemed to work better together, work harder, and the crowd was now more into Jinder as champ (it's a notable shift from being bored with him as an "undeserving" contender).

Winner, and STILL WWE Champion: JINDER MAHAL
