Barcelona Transfer News: Marco Verratti to Force PSG Exit
Marco Verratti is reportedly ready to push through a move to Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain after setting his heart on a switch to the Camp Nou.
According to Marca (h/t Uche Amako of the Daily Express), the Italian will rebel against any decision by PSG to block his transfer to La Liga.
The player has reportedly agreed his wages with Barca, prompting Verratti to boycott training with Les Parisiens, per Marca.
According to football writer David Amoyal, PSG have a track record of being stubborn when players wish to leave:
La Sexta (h/t Amako) recently quoted former PSG director of football Patrick Kluivert declaring the Ligue 1 team will not allow the talented midfielder to depart.
"I know the president very well, and I also know that Verratti wants to go to Barcelona, but PSG will not let him leave," he said. "He renewed his contract last year, and it will be very difficult [for Barca to sign him]."
The 24-year-old has developed into one of Europe's most coveted players, becoming a regular for his club.
The midfielder featured 35 times in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season, scoring three goals and assisting seven times.
