Barcelona’s new cash+player offer for PSG star Marco Verratti

Both Sport and RAC1 are reporting this evening that Spanish giants Barcelona are readying an offer of cash plus Ivan Rakitic for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.

Barca’s chase of Verratti has been a rather public one to this point, with both the player and his agent having made it clear that the Italian would be very keen on a move to Catalunya.

However, PSG have been adamant throughout that Verratti is not for sale at any price, with the player himself even recently apologising to the club and their fans for the actions of his representative.

Change of heart

However, shortly after Verratti confirmed that he was happy to remain in the French capital, an increasing number of stories began to circulate that PSG would in fact consider a sale, but only for a monumental fee.

Bid incoming

And, as per this evening’s reports, such an offer could be incoming in the near future, with Barcelona ready to go all-out for their no.1 transfer target.

It is claimed that the Blaugrana are ready to place a bid of 70 million Euro, plus midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

It remains to be seen whether the board in Paris will be interested in such an offer, though Barca will no doubt argue that the class and experience of Rakitic makes this a bid worth 100 million Euro or more…
