LIONEL MESSI has told Barcelona to change their transfer plans.

Lionel Messi has told Barcelona not to sign Oriol Romeu or Paulinho
The Catalans are desperate to snap up Paris St-Germain star Marco Verratti.

But PSG are determined to hang onto their prized asset and have spurred Barca's advances.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera was viewed by Barca bigwigs as a suitable plan B.

However, after impressing at Old Trafford last season, United are refusing to sell.

That's left Barca scouring for alternative options - and Messi isn't happy with their hit list.

Spanish news outlet Diario Gol say Nou Camp chiefs are eyeing Southampton star Oriol Romeu and Tottenham flop Paulinho.

Romeu has impressed on the south coast since joining the club from Chelsea.

Paulinho, however, has been strutting his stuff in China.

Diario Gol reckon Messi is concerned the duo are not of the requisite standard.

It's suggested he'd prefer Andre Gomes, Rafinha or Dennis Suarez to get more game time.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering the possibility of re-signing Achraf Hakimi just a year after selling him to Inter Milan. According to a report from Spanish publication  El Gol Digital , reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid are keen on bringing Achraf Hakimi back to the club from Serie A giants Inter Milan. Having come through the youth ranks at Real Madrid, Hakimi made his senior debut in October 2017 but managed only 17 appearances before he was sent out on a two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
