Manchester City have agreed a £49.5million fee with Monaco for their defender Benjamin Mendy.

City had a two bids rejected by the French champions before they upped their offer for the 23-year-old France left-back.

Mendy is on standby to fly to the US for a medical and join up with City's squad in Los Angeles on their pre-season tour of the States.

City are also expecting to complete the £26.5m signing of Real Madrid right-back Danilo, who is also in LA on tour with the Spanish club.

The arrival of Mendy and Danilo will take City's summer spending through the £200m barrier, with the club determined to land Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in a deal worth around £50m.
